Well, it appears that I will be playing host to a Brit of Asian extraction, a southern European and a Chinese dude next weekend. What (besides getting them all completely hammered on Old Reserve) can one do to entertain this crowd?

I was thinking a pub crawl would be nice and traditional, if a bit exhausting. Perhaps Cricket Club, In on the Green (note single n) and Galadari in quick succession?

Sounds like a cunning plan. What are they going to eat though?

Ooof. They’ll probably want to eat “traditional Sri Lankan food”. Where does one procure such animals in this town? Perhaps I’ll take them to the utterly ghetto beachside spot in Dehiwela. At least the “fried rice” ingredients cannot be closely examined because it’s quite dark there

I was also pondering this traditional SL food thing. Raja Bojun perhaps? http://www.travbuddy.com/Raja-Bojun-v191016

Dehiwela? Beachside? Are you referring to Wadiya and Wellawatte?

Wadiya is ghastly now. The best seafood is at Lagoon (hugely expensive) or at a couple of places on Mount beach whose names escape me at the moment.

Golden Mile? Also, Wadiya has always been quasi ghastly but can’t be beaten for location. Food is edible too.

The last time I went there (about a year and a half) it was less than edible. Absolutely awful.

Yeah, I have also been less than impressed with Wadiya of late. There is a place called JoJos (?) on Mount Beach, close to the Golden Mile. That’s slightly ghetto but folks go get drunk on the beach there. The place in Dehiwela (called the Station) is similar but slightly more civilized

Has heard good things about the Station
